SELF SPONSOR

Bank statement

Bank statement in your name, which states the date the account was opened, current balance, average deposits, and average balances. The bank statement must be an official bank statement on letterhead stationery and have the currency status.

Financial documents

Property estimates issued by a certified accountant, and certificates of bonds or stocks. If you cannot provide any of the above proof of income documentation, your bank statement must show sufficient funds for all the years you will be attending LaGuardia Community College.

*Morning market accounts, investment accounts, IRAs, fixed deposits, stocks are not accepted unless the bank or the financial institution as stated in the statement that the money is cashable at any time.

EXTERNAL SPONSOR

Bank statement

The bank statement must show the name of the sponsor, which states the date the account was opened, current balance, average deposits, and average balances. The bank statement must be an official bank statement on letterhead stationery. If the account is in the name of more than one person, each individual must submit a separate affidavit of support.

Financial documents

Sponsor’s employment verification on letterhead stationery. This document has to include salary (per month or per year) and the currency. If the sponsor is self-employed, an income estimate must be prepared by a bank or private accountant. The most recent income tax documentation (W2 for US citizens). The most recent “profit and loss statement” for the company and the ownership certificate.

Affidavit of financial support

This letter must state how much money your sponsor will provide and the length of time for this support.

Room and Board

If you are provided with living and food expenses for the two years of study, your sponsor must provide the authorized affidavit of finance, photocopy of the lease, rent, deed, or mortgage receipt.
